Manitoulin Timber Frames is the place to get the best possible work done. If you are considdering a building project, large or small, and want attention to detail, skilled craftmanship, a deep knowledge base, and just beautiful results, look no further. George, Evan, and Anthony blew us away with their quality work and professionalism. Their level of expertise and care is rare these days, and really sets them apart from the other options out there. We are amazed at the home that they built for us, and have the highest confidence that the attention on quality they showed will translate into a long, safe, and beautiful experience living there. Thanks guys!!!

Matthew Stephens, Central Manitoulin

George Kopylov is an excellent contractor. He replaced a steel roof at 100 Townline Road in Sheguiandah, the historic two-room stone schoolhouse which once served as a Howland municipal office. The results are square, with neatly-placed fasteners, and all details given careful attention. I recommend this business.

Algis Tribinevicius, Central Manitoulin

Excellent contractor – highest quality of work and work ethic. Showed up every day on time and gave a full day of work. Very professional, drew up a contract which stated when he would start, length of time to completion, cost of material and labour. Also gave us 3D diagram of the project months before start date so there would be no miscommunication. I would highly recommend George, great person to deal with.

Gwen Lapell, Gore Bay

Mnidoo Mnising Power acquired the services of Manitoulin Timber Frames to construct a ceremonial lodge that imparts cultural authenticity and symbolic meaning. Our ways of knowing and seeing the world was integrated within the structure itself with the recognition of the 13 Moons Cycle of Life and the use of cedar logs, as the building material. Mr. George Kopylov built a high quality project to specification and the end result exceeded our expectations

Patsy Corbiere, Tribal Chai United Chiefs and Councils of Mnidoo Mnising

Although their specialty is timber frame construction, George and his team were willing to assist us with the repair of an old chimney which was unsafe and falling apart. They are very professional, on time and gave us a full written estimate before any work commenced. The work was completed according to the prior agreement and there were no surprises or additional charges. Their attention to detail, honesty and quality work were excellent and I definitely recommend them.

Jeff Wahl, Mindemoya

George helped us out at several points in our build, from the planning stages, to receiving shipments, to erecting the structure and installing the roof. Through it all, George was punctual, professional and quickly devised solutions for unexpected problems. His calm demeanour and effective organization helped move our project along quickly and smoothly.

We hired George to do a timber peak on our home in Kagawong, Manitoulin Island. We are 100% IMPRESSED. Words cannot describe how beautiful it is, every bit of detail is absolutely breathtaking. It is the centrepiece of our home! We have had SO many compliments on it. George was a complete pleasure to work with! We will recommend George 100%. You will be SO happy with his work!

Breanna and Barry, Kagawong

That [new shed door] looks amazing. We were both remarking how the door looks like something out of a fairy tale story. WOW! Thank you for doing such an amazing job.

Paul and Ronit, Kagawong

I highly recommend George Kopylov to anyone who has a need for an excellent carpenter.

Henry K. Timmerman Timberworks, Ontario

I would have no hesitation whatever in recommending George to anyone looking for an extremely confident, reliable, self-reliant, hardworking and especially important: accurate carpenter who is a pleasure to work with.

James F.-H. Oak Apple Frames, UK

I had some vague ideas about what I wanted with my table and benches, but George produced a beautiful work of art in Quercoflora Gigantica Daviesii that I could not have imagined. I am so pleased with what I believe will act as the centerpiece for hopefully many happy family and friend occasions for my lifetime and afterwards. What makes it so special for me is how personal it is. George spoke to me and visited my home and took the trouble to listen and understand me and then produced his work.

John D, UK

George visited my garden and asked pertinent questions as to my requirements and very promptly sent a highly professional and detailed proposal with drawings. This proposal gave me the confidence to order: George had obviously understood my rather poorly-expressed brief – the oak was to be thick enough to survive a couple of generations, the construction robust and, really understanding his client, the arms wide enough to accommodate a pint. This last part of the specification really clinched the deal. George invited me for a “fitting” where he adjusted the back to give maximum comfort. Within a month he delivered the most beautiful benches, perfectly built to suit the informal style of the garden.

…but most of all, an all-round bloody good bloke!

Alex H, UK

We have admired your attitude to the wood, and the workmanship. You have been highly reliable – you said what you could do, priced it, and did it. No fuss, lots of care, and some delightful personal touches.

The Shermans, UK

… we found that George was going to have time to replace our ancient, much loved church doors that really had fallen apart. Luckily his ideas were just what we wanted, so our sadness at the demise of the old was hugely outweighed by the excitement of beautifully made, simply designed, but completely original doors – perfect down to the tiny window (necessary to be able to use a lovely board with a small rotten edge) and the fabulous butterflies, dragonflies and bugs etched on the doors. Thank you George for something we will enjoy for the rest of our lives (and others will enjoy for much longer).
